Equipment list

Ward/Branch Camp Directors’ Equipment List

___ First Aid Kit

___ Extra sanitary napkins

___ Broom

___ 2 Buckets to put out fires—one for water, one for dirt & small shovel

___ 1 large box of garbage bags

___ Snacks in vacuum-sealed wrapping in ice cooler/air-tight containers—

Avoid mice/rat problems!

___ Liquid dish soap for clean up. NEVER USE SOAP ON DUTCH OVEN—ONLY WATER.

___ Scratchy pads, steel wool

___ Heavy duty tin foil One large box per 8 people

___ Battery-powered alarm clock (no outlet in cabins, though there are lights in each cabin)

___ Wristwatch

___Extra flashlights & batteries/lanterns for campsite

___Rope or clothesline and clothespins

___Duraflame logs for s’mores and ambiance at night (Coals are for cooking).

DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD. THE STAKE WILL SUPPLY THE FIREWOOD YOU NEED AT CAMP.

___1 large bag easy light Charcoal (Kingsford brand is best) 1 bag is enough for 2 ovens.

___Dutch oven(s). One size-12 dutch oven will feed eight people.

(Count camp directors and bishop/branch president in your numbers)

___Chimney Starter for heating coals (see Chimney Starter page)

___Roasting sticks—one per camper in your unit (you can use wire hangers)

___Pot holders—at least two pairs

___Cutting knives/board

___2 serving spoons

___Can opener

___Four cloth hand towels

___Water jug for campsite, paper cups

___Hand wipes

___Paper towels

___Large box of matches

___2 tarps to cover firewood/food items in the rain

___Rainy day activities

___Extra camp manuals

___Scriptures and other items for devotionals

___Any sleep gear for comfort. You will be sleeping on metal cots with mattresses.

___3-4 pants or LONG shorts (to the knee)

___1 Sweatshirt (it can get cold)

___2 pairs of Tennis Shoes (in case one pair gets wet) YW will participate in

3, 5 and 7-mile hikes depending on their age. They need appropriate footwear for the journey.

___5 pairs Socks

___Underwear

___ Baseball cap or similar variety to keep ticks away and sun at bay

___1-piece Swimsuit

___1 pair Sandals for shower and poolside

___Washcloth

___2 Towels (1 for pool, 1 for showering)

___Toiletries: (hairbrush, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, sunscreen,

bug spray, feminine products)

___Rain Poncho

___Flashlight/Batteries

___Camera (optional)

___Medication (if needed)
___Scriptures

___Camp Manual

___2 Pens for Journaling (will make journal at camp or bring your own if you prefer)

___Secret Sister Gifts: 3 notes and/or dollar store gifts to place on her pillow each day.

(Notes can be made with materials at camp if you wish).

DO NOT BRING:

music, hair dryers, curling irons, cell phones, ipods, or any other electronic devices

CAUTION:

Camp Misty Mount asks us not to have food in the cabins, however, if you bring simple snacks you must keep them in a container with a securely fastened lid—no exceptions! Open food attracts rats and mice which in turn attract snakes. There are rats, mice and snakes in and around Camp Misty Mount.

4:00 PM Arrival/Check-in at dining hall for cabin assignments (portable snack provided)

5:00 PM Move into cabins/ Work on skit

6:00 PM Dinner at Dining Hall & Stake YW Presidency Skit

7:00 PM Clean-up and Prep for Opening Night (Spirit Leaders’ Devotional)

7:30 PM Opening Night w/ Sandra Turley at Stake Fire Circle

9:00 PM Dessert at Dining Hall

Closing Social

Who: All the Washington D.C. youth and leaders

When: 7:00pm Saturday June 12th

Where: Stake Center

What: Yummy dinner, slide show of youth conference, and games

How to dress: Casual, but church standards (no tank-tops, short shorts or skirts)

Can't wait to see everyone there it will be a lot of fun!!!
